ABOUT ME

Lisa LaneAbout the Artist

I was not always an artist... at least I didn't know I was. After being known as the "crafty" teacher who came up with the fun art projects, I decided to take that creative drive a step further into a career predominantly in the field of art. With my natural abilities in computers, software and technology, I knew without a doubt that graphic design was where I wanted to go.

After going back to college for a second degree, I have thoroughly enjoyed the field of graphic design. From the smallest of projects to those that can take months, I'm up for a challenge! I always try to step out of the box, creatively speaking. While maintaining a design look that is current by today's standards, I also incorporate the professional and clean look that goes with a professional designer with high standards. I also maintain personal communication and meetings with my clients, something that the larger design firms cannot always afford to do.

After about a year with a web design company, I decided to work from home as a freelance designer. I serve a variety of clients locally and abroad. I have taught myself a lot about website development since graduating in 2008, but have most of my formal education in the aesthetic design of websites, business identity design, and many different types of print design. I was honored in February of 2008 to win an ADDY award, while still a student at Auburn University Montgomery, for my work in editorial design. I have every intention of creating more award-winning designs—in print and in web design.
